I believe you all know the significance of this statement and it is not just a statement but an emotion that all veterans collectively share and relate with. Given that significance, I would like all of us to do a little activity together and I hope you all like it too. But, if not, please do share feedback with me. I am here with you. As a veteran, you may all have various experiences and emotions that you all went through. You may have a lot of stories of your days and the deep thoughts, and emotions behind those stories, I believe a fellow veteran may be able to understand quicker than any of us. ...See more Hello all, As you may know, we started weekly prompts to discuss and support each other. Today's prompt is focused on Grief. There is no wrong or right way to grieve. Grieve is simply grieving and they are valid for everyone who experiences it. It is hard and it is complicated. Grief is a natural response to losing someone. And everyone experiences it at some point in time. But I imagine the experience of grief and loss for veterans can be heavier. Some of the main reasons a veteran may grieve are: * loss of a comrade who died * survivor's guilt * the transition from active service to civilian life * loss of someone in the family while active in service It can be struggling and filled with pain. But I appreciate you all for being here with us and know you have all of us here to talk and discuss anything and everything. You are not alone in this. Given that, this week's prompt is: What are you grieving for? How are you coping with it? Please share anything and everything you are comfortable with. ...See more Hello all Veterans, I hope you are all having a steady start to the week. This will be our first weekly check-in and we will do it every Monday to discuss our accomplishments, gratitudes, and challenges to support and do some teamwork together. Each week we will be sharing 1-2 prompts as part of our check-in discussion and I hope you all find them worth your thoughts and efforts. Because I would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and emotions. This week I want to start with adjustment/ readjustment challenges. As civilians, many of us wouldn’t be even able to imagine all challenges we may witness or witness while adjusting to a Veteran life or a Civilian life. Given my challenges with adjusting to school, college, and the workplace, I can imagine it isn’t exactly what we would want anyone to experience. Though we all do. I invite you all to introduce yourself and share your experiences and challenges with Adjustment / Readjustment to a Different Life. Any and all thoughts are welcomed. Also, feel free to suggest me the prompts for the next check-in. We will go to start guided discussions and open chats in the Member Group Chats.
