Forgiving myself
How do I forgive myself for the things i have done to myself. Is there a way to forgive oneself?
@rainlove27 Some questions to ask yourself:
What is the absence of forgiveness?
What is the result of not forgiving yourself?
What would you say to a friend who made the same mistake?
@rainlove27
@rainlove27 I am sorry that you are going through this terrible situation. I went through something similar about 5 years ago... I made some irreversible career choices that have affected my entire life.
I found it so difficult to forgive myself, I still haven't done it completely.
But fortunately, I found a way to somehow fall into the same career category. Even though that took 3 extra years, but that has made me feel much better and even love myself a bit more.
So, I think I can tell you some reality. You have to ponder over what you have done and reverse it if you can. If it can't be reversed, then my dear friend you WILL have to accept it, because that is the only way to live. That is the reality. Because if you cannot do anything about it then you are just wasting your energy by being hard on yourself. It can take a long time (Time heals everything), so just hang in there.

By not forgiving yourself you are perpetuating your pain and strengthening negative self beliefs. Who of us has never made a mistake ?? And i've made some massive, messy and long lasting mistakes. But you have to let the legacy of these mistakes go or you will forever remain trapped in the past. When instead you deserve compassion and to step into the light. Allow yourself the gift of forgiveness, which i am sure you would extend to a friend. Well, be a friend to yourself and don't allow the past to influence your future. Please....be kind to yourself because you deserve it xx
Ultimately, forgiving oneself is a journey, not a destination. It requires patience, self-reflection, and a willingness to let go of the past and move forward. By treating ourselves with kindness, compassion, and understanding, we can begin to heal from past mistakes and create a brighter, more positive future for ourselves.
