Alone

Peppery94 October 15th, 2022

You ever notice that it is harder to make friends as you get older? For me, I had a traumatizing event happen to me that made me fear people. I also feel like I can read more into people and I am so unsatisfied with my interactions. I genuinely would love to make a friend that cared about my mental health and didn't want to use my hurt to manipulate me. But talking to most people only lasts so long. I sometimes wish I were a kid again and didn't know anything and be friends with everyone again. I guess, ignorance is bliss. 🥺

Hey hey @Peppery94, nice to meet you. I'd like to assure you that you're not alone feeling it was way better when our innocence was intact, and when connecting with people wasn't as hard or scary. It was nice and easy right, to share our stationary with someone and they calling us bestie right after lol, I miss that too. ❤

I am sorry about the events that lead you to feel scared of people, the trauma you feel is valid. Our brain uses our experiences to protect us from similar hurt in future, which can be again, quite exhausting because it restrains us from opening up again and may even lead us to lose on some really nice and genuine people in the way, but it is also good, I think, to be a little cautious and protect our wellbeing over every thing else. We deserve to feel safe and stable in the company of others, yes. ❤

It is commendable how you're able to acknowledge the same. We certainly can use some compassionate support and company, specially when we need that support, during a low time.

I am glad you're seeking support in 7 cups, trying to confide in people with the experiences telling not to is hard, I know hehe, yet here you are trying so hard, and yes yes, something to be proud of yourself for. Always the little steps that make the difference. ❤ Here's hoping you find some really nice, loving, committed, supportive people off cups also, very very soon. Hang in tight till then okie(?). We got this!
