Interested in Hinduism

Hey, everyone!

I have struggled with religion and spirituality for quite some time now. The Episcopal Church is really all I've ever known and, unfortunately, has left a very bad taste in my mouth. (The Body and Blood of Christ don't sound quite as appetizing anymore.) Surprisingly, I have found many Episcopal priests (and one Catholic nun) to be a bit self-centered and cynical. Not all, but certainly some. There have been times I have reached out, only to receive the cold shoulder. Ignoring someone is one of the absolute worst things you can do to them. It means you're not granting the person the courtesy of being human. That isn't to say that cutting off ties isn't healthy if the person is being abusive, but it is cowardly and unprofessional for a religious leader to do instead of lending an ear to someone in need of help.

I love how deeply spiritual the people I've met, who practice Hinduism, are. From what I know (which is very little), the bond is about a person's own connection with deities and the surrounding environment. If you practice this faith or have in the past, please share your experiences. I'd love to know more!

@PestoPasta8973

Hello PestoPasta8973, I read that you are struggling with religion. I wanted to share my story with Jesus. I don't want to be that person who comes up to your door with a big bible and pressuring you to have Jesus in your life, but I do want you to consider you to get to know the amazing things Jesus and God have done for me, I was born into a family were church is a thing that you do every Sunday and you pray at every meal, because he died for YOU, when he was on that cross dieing for our sins YOUR name appears and he thought "I am doing this because I love YOU. I will never grow tired of you I will never be annoyed by you I will never betray you, you are perfect in in my image, even if you might not think so"

I appreciate your perspective; however, I was once heavily involved in the church and thought about becoming a priest myself. It simply doesn't appeal to me anymore.
