Does Life has any meaning ?
@NotFound20 sometimes we need to stop thinking what life is and start living it
There are some questions that I like to ask myself :-
1. What would make your life more valuable or meaningful?
2. Which elements in your life do you already take to be meaningful?
3. What should be removed from your life in order to make it more meaningful?
4. What characteristics in other people lead you to consider them as having meaningful lives?
5. What has worked for others? What do various traditions see as meaningful? Could those things be meaningful to you as well?
6. Suppose that you were on your deathbed, and that you had the presence of mind and the time to look back on your life. What would you be happy or sorry to have done and not to have done?
7. Suppose that you knew that you had only ten more days, or six more months, to live. What would you decide to do in that time?

I'm copy-pasting this list as i struggle with the same problem. thanks!

That's great. You can also read this book if you want ( Finding Meaning in an Imperfect World
@NotFound20 nooo.. there is too much to seek.. just not stop looking...
@NotFound20
Everyone is looking for constant joy, bliss and happiness, no one not even the smallest of the creatures want to be unhappy ever. That's the meaning of life, to explore the ways and find ways to be able to be at a state which is blissful always, no matter what. The state which is full of unending happiness always, and that's possible. Exploring that possibility and working for it makes life meaningful for us.
Helping others and being the reason for others' happiness, gives us lot of happiness too. There are people struggling to get one time meal a day, and here we are having no troubles, everything available on fingertips and we are making up problems for ourselves now that we are too free. That's when we need to realise that yea meaning can definitely not come from materialistic or attachment to physical things, it's rooted and sourced from much deeper inside of us, and that we need to keep learning more and more about. That makes life meaningful.
I consider life as a blank canvas and we're the artists. Now it's upto us whether we keep it as blank or draw something that's meaningful to us.
@dancingEnergy1321 hmm and what happens when we die?
That is unrelated to the post.
@dancingEnergy1321
But if one has to think about it, then what we create on the canvas will be our legacy after death. Whether it be something that we have passed on to our kids or whether it's something either good or bad for the society. But in the end even if one consider there is no meaning behind life, they will still leave something behind even if that's just a blank canvas.
@dancingEnergy1321 Black canvas, I like this idea. Each one is unique, each person uses different colors and at the end we have a painting, which is a part of our life. When I was a child I didn't consider how important it is to keep memories in form of photos or poems, or anything else valuable to us, or just stories kept in our head. Even a blank canvas is a drawing which just got erased many times.
@La5ky
You're absolutely right about the memories that got lost in time. Now I like to leave some sort of a proof in present for the future me to make the future me remember that I was once here in this present. Whether it be in a form of a picture, a chat or a comment etc
@dancingEnergy1321 I mean yeah.. it's up to you whether you live an evil life or a good one.. but still that won't give me a purpose. Like ur perception on ur purpose of life depends on what u think happens after death. Cause after death, people just throw you in a grave and move on with their lives.. you family takes over your wealth and life goes on. Sure, they would cry for a month.. but eventually people move on. Even if u were a very good person. I mean how many times in a day does a person remember mother Teresa for example..
I definitely wonder about this all the time. I personally believe in God. Or at least try to. I think of God as a spirit and life force that's in all of us. A creator. I have many questions though. Why are we here? What are we meant to do? And so many more questions.
I hope life has meaning. I'll try my best to create my own meaning and reasons for living. You should listen to this song called A Reason by Willow. https://youtu.be/r3BfJzB0DSE
@sailormoon97 So what happens after death? First we believe that we came into existence in stages.. the first stage was when we were all just souls and we met each other etc. (that's why sometimes you see a person and immediate you click with them..but sometimes you are just irritated with some people) and then that stage passed and we came into another existence which is In the womb of our mothers.. totally complete existence.. only 9 months long.. you didn't meet people, you didnt eat from your mouth.. you were fed by a cord etc. then you came into this stage which would eventually pass and you will move to your grave where in your very first day.. when people throw you in your grave and you can hear their footsteps going by.. two very scary angels would make you sit up and ask you only 3 questions: Who is your lord? Who was the messenger sent to you? What's your religion? If you pass these three questions, that's it, you have passed the exam and whatever comes after ie, the day of judgement will be easy for you.
I believe God would have to understand that not everyone grows up the same way and are exposed to the same exact religion. What should matter is if we're loving people.
@sailormoon97 yeah so we believe those that never heard about Islam, would have a test on the day of judgement.. if they pass it,they would enter paradise..if not, then they would enter the hellfire.... that's why God sent us messengers so that we don't have an excuse infront of god for not sending us reminder.. and now there's hardly anyone who doesn't know about islam
@sailormoon97 hello, so I just was talking about the same thing with @La5ky. Look I am going to tell you what I believe as a Muslim, you are free to accept or reject. So we believe that there is only one GOD, the most powerful, the all knowing, the most merciful.. who is above all his creation. And he created us, his slaves, for the simple purpose of worshipping him alone without associating any partners with him in worship.
Now would it make sense for me to create something extraordinary without an operating manual? Whenever you buy a product, you always get a manual with it, telling you what would harm it and what would benefit it. And so our creator sent us guidance through prophets like Abraham and Moses and Jesus until the last one Muhammad ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all ). They are to be a practical example for us to follow, cause if Allah had sent angels, they won't be practical example for us cause they are a different creation. He sent us guidance in the Quran which tells us what's harmful for us and what's not.. for eg: not stealing, not slandering anyone, being kind to ur parents, not killing anyone, being just, not to drink, smoke, have illegitimate intercourse out of marriage etc. and when people don't follow these guides that's when they start malfunctioning and start getting depression etc. like allah said in the Quran.. that whoever moves away from my remembrance would have a depressed life (20:124)
@NotFound20 Why not?
@NotFound20 i always wonder
@NotFound20 I recommend Victor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning" is a short read but there's power in the words...Also I'll throw some Nietzsche in the mix with the quote "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering". Basically two men, one Jewish, one German (I found this a bit ironic) with the same viewpoint. You have to find something even if it is the smallest of somethings...because Nihilism can be a treacherous road.
@NotFound20
Your question implies that you don't enjoy living. We only need things to have meaning when we don't like them.
I believe that life simply exists. There's no inherent meaning in it. But a life can be more or less worth living.
