Childhood fears (Trigger Warning)

comfortableSpring7236 November 28th, 2022

Hello everyone!

I was just reading a journal from a while ago (When I was 7) and I realized that some of the things that I was afraid of then had completely changed, and some of them were pretty rediculous.

So, to get to know you better, I have a list of questions (Feel free to skip any of them!)

1: What is the weirdest childhood fear you have? (For me that's my fear of rocking chairs. I was always afraid that I would fall through the back of the chair if I rocked it too hard.)

2: What is one childhood fear that you still have today? (Enclosed spaces. Especially tube slides)

3: How did you overcome a fear? (For me, I overcame the fear of heights by going to a playground and climbing a little bit higher and a little bit higher until I was at the top, and I did it over and over again)

1: Spider man's mask (Not spider man, just the mask)

2: The dark

3: I've been progressing on trying to get over my fear of the dark by slowly turning down the lights at night, and listening to music or audio of somesort so that I don't get triggered as badly

I had a terrible fear of toilets, I had nightmares almost every night and I sometimes peed the bed just to avoid going to the bathroom. I am way better now but still get a little nervous. I had no reason to be scared of them and don't know why I was.

  1. At night, turning off the lights from downstairs then running up to my room as if someone’s chasing me (lol).
  2. The dark! Especially that I’m usually alone in the house.
  3. By being more used to it and my fear gradually goes away. With time, I become more open that these fears are just in my head and there is nothing serious to be scared about.
