In one of my other posts I said that I have really violent thoughts all the time even though I hate violence and I didn't know why...but my friend said that I do that because of my OCD. Is it true that people with OCD have those violent thoughts?

@BumbleKitty Has a mental health professional said you have OCD? Have you considered asking a mental health professional about these recurring thoughts?

@BumbleKitty Because you have asked about this again, I’m guessing that these thoughts are continuing to cause you discomfort, or to be concerned right? I googled OCD and at least one article I read didn’t seem to directly correlate OCD with violent behavior. It seemed to indicate that the “O” in OCD may make one assign more importance to the thought than is warranted. So in other words, you’ll worry more about those thoughts. That said, (1) I’m not a mental health professional, (2) I’m not OCD but there was a period of time in my life where a violent thought briefly crossed my mind and it caused me anxiety for a long time wondering about how to deal with it. So I understand how it can be very distressing. (3) You might want to discuss with a mental health professional if it continues to bother you, not that it means you’re in danger of becoming violent, but rather because it is causing you anxiety. A therapist might be able to help you remove or reduce that thought from sticking in an obsessive loop. Then it won’t cause you as much distress as it may be causing now.

well, forma have many good thoughts and many complicated, confused thoughts. Every body is being free at will to express what ever. good or bad. So, worry that you don't have to somebody die. is much easier to think of than a forma words.
