Hey, I'm on a member account I'm afraid, so can't listen, but I just wanted to signpost you a little - if it helps.

Alcohol addiction has such a profound effect - not just on the alcoholic, but on those who care about them. It can be easy for you to become preoccupied with his difficulties at the expense of your own peace of mind. Yes, you care - but he is the one with the illness, and he has to manage that.

AA is pretty well known for anyone trying to overcome alcoholism, but have you heard of alanon? This is a support group for families and friends of alcoholics. You don't need to be alone. And whilst a lot of focus tends to be on the person with the alcohol addiction, your needs are important to - please don't lose sight of that.
