World Cancer Day
Hey community!
A global event taking place every year on February 4, World Cancer Day unites the world's population in the fight against cancer. The event aims at saving millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action.
Created in 2000, World Cancer Day has grown into a positive movement for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history.
Each year, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world, gathering communities, organisations and individuals in schools, businesses, hospitals, marketplaces, parks, community halls, places of worship - in the streets and online - acting as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer.
This year's World Cancer Day's theme, 'I Am and I Will', is all about you and your commitment to act. We believe that through our positive actions, together we can reach the target of reducing the number of premature deaths from cancer and noncommunicable diseases by one third by 2030.
Join us on 4 February and speak out and stand up for a cancer-free world.
Our time to act is now.

There are over 100 different types of cancer.
My grandmother has been through cancer but survived. My ex's ex-girlfriend passed away from cancer. His father also had cancer, fought it, and it is coming back again.
One thing I want to say to anyone going through it or who knows someone going through it is to stay strong. Never stop fighting it and I love you!!
There are too many kinds of cancer. I am a breast cancer survivor. Always get any suspicious lumps checked out. I thought I was too young to have breast cancer but I was wrong.
