I will start with this riddle:
What is easy to get into, but hard to get out of?

Good thought, but there is a way more obvious and 'straight-forward' answer. You will understand it when you see it, like is often the case with riddles. But still good out-of-the-box thinking
They typically spend their
time buried in books;
With other alike operators;
But when under pressure and
rubbed the wrong way,
Become hot-headed instigators.

You are really really close, you've got the right idea. But there's an english saying with other words than up and down.
