Riddles!
This topic is about short riddles, because not everyone likes to do the larger logical puzzles. If you do like those, then click here.
If you've guessed the riddle, you can immediately post another one yourself. Let's keep it going.
I will start with this riddle:
What is easy to get into, but hard to get out of?
Before the days of cars, a man rode into town on his horse. He arrived on Friday, spent three days in town and left on Friday. How is that possible?
New riddle:
Even if they are starving, natives living in the Arctic will never eat a penguin's egg. Why not?
@DarkWolf there are no natives there
I am no riddle master, but here's one I know.
The man who invented it doesn't want it. The man who bought it doesn't need it. The man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it?
@ParadoxLost
I'm thinking it's a coffin.
@crimsonField6694 Good job, you got it
How about this one?
How does Halloween come before Valentine's day?
@crimsonField6694 In the alphabet? Or is that too simple
@ParadoxLost
Your answer is actually really near. :)
@crimsonField6694
In a dictionary?
@DarkWolf, spot-on! You're really good at riddles. ;) And @ParadoxLost, your answer was actually a clue to this one.
Looking forward for the next! :)

I am the beginning of sorrow, and the end of sickness. You cannot express happiness without me, yet I am in the midst of crosses. I am always in risk, yet never in danger. You may find me in the sun, but I am never out of darkness. What am I?
@DarkWolf death?
I saw a man in white, he looked quite a sight. He was not old, but he stood in the cold. And when he felt the sun, he started to run.
Who could he be?
Snowman!!
I have one that's kind of a borderline riddle-- maybe it is more of a play on words. If it's entertaining, all the better. Here goes....
What is the difference between a hippo and a Zippo?
@ladylazarus1971
I'm inclined to say the difference is the first letter. But I'm sure the riddle is a bit more clever than that.
@DarkWolf Yeah, it is! I'd provide a hint, but having a hard time thinking of 1 without giving it away. Umm... think of puns and weight?
@ladylazarus1971
Here's my take on this.
A hippo is light (quite heavy, actually) and Zippo is ligher (a lighter brand).
