@jigsaw3638 teachable.

Many people say your first "love" or first kiss, first person, etc. Is like fireworks and it's unlike any love you'll ever know. That's not true. Throughout your life you'll find people who can be abusive, loving, maybe even somewhere in-between. But somewhere alone the timeline you'll find someone. That one person who you could with almost immediately, you slowly isolate yourself till all you have is them. They became your everything. Late night phone calls, laughing, maybe even some crying, but every second that you have that person is like a wonderland. You'll always love that person more then you will ever love another human being again. That level of love is something you'll never reach again. But that person never stays around. You'll think of them everyday or every other day for the rest of your life because of the experience. They're a lesson. Appreciate what you have when you have it. Soulmates are real. You can have many. Friends or more. But you're true soulmate? Is a soulmate that wasn't meant to be.

Love to me is comfort and safety. Most of my life I've had to wear this mask in front of people because the real me wasn't presentable or likable. So, when I think of someone I love I think of someone I can be myself around, someone that makes me feel safe enough to know they won't leave me for being myself. That we can just goof around and be ourselves without judgment, and if I ever get in a bad situation I can count on them to be there and vice versa. Someone that respects my boundaries and in turn I respect theirs.

Love isn't enough. It's not the earth or ether. It's not the air we need to breathe or the fire in our hearth and home. But it is a hidden, underground river system, forever nourishing, cleansing and holding. Always there for those who remember their roots, or are patient enough to allow their roots to reach it, through stone and bone, history and mystery.
