Let's start with a logic puzzle! Which square fits in the last grid?
Create two words by using the following ten letters. You are only allowed to use each letter once.
MYSEVODLTA
Can you find the correct answer?
@DarkWolf
D
@Barltik2065
You're very close, the actual answer is E though.
A dot is only carried forward when it appears in the same position in two of the previous three circles.
@DarkWolf ... and three is undefined, so it could be either. That's why I didn't reply, it was not solvable.
@cloudySummer
In the example you can see the three center-left white dots, and the missing center-left dot in the comparison to the right.
Since the black and white dots are treated the same when the same color shows up in 2 positions, and with the lack of any other information given, you can infer that black and white dots are treated the same in the puzzle.
Furthermore, in this puzzle you've been given no information that would suggest 3 black dots would lead to a black dot having to show up. But you have been given information that 3 dots of the same color shouldn't show up in the answer, even if that was a different color.
Some IQ-test type questions can get very tricky, but there is always one answer that fits the best based on the information you've been given. One answer you've to make the least assumptions to get to.
I hope that clears it up a little bit.
@DarkWolf Thanks, yes, I can follow that. I can still see why someone would choose the other option. Three times white is ... ultra white. Three times black is ... ultra-black. Only that it cannot get blacker, while it could get a bit whiter, but that could just be a problem with displaying the concept. So many things one can consider! Lol...
What number comes next in this sequence?
25, 32, 27, 36, ?
@DarkWolf
H thinks it is 29 as the next number would appear to be a twenties number which appears to go up in twos.
Can you find the answer to this one?
@DarkWolf
H thinks it is c
What number should replace the question mark?
@DarkWolf
Husband thinks it is 10, as the sum total of the numbers within the circle appears to be 26.
@lazyKatz
That's actually true, so I'll accept the answer!
The intended answer was 4 x 9 = 36. Leaving 6 as the answer. But your answer fits perfectly too. 👍
What is the value of x?
64 – 12 × 2 + 6 ÷ 3 = x
@DarkWolf
Order of Operations
Parentheses, Exponents, Multiply, divide, add, subtract
12 x 2 = 24
6 / 3 = 2
24 + 2 = 26
64 - 26 = 38
X = 38
@Barltik2065 It's news to me that plus would have precedence over minus. In my maths book, they've always been on equal precedence level and would be executed in order of appearance. There are no parentheses here that would break that rule.
