@GoldenStrawberry7100
an interesting and simple idea for 'if you were mayor of a town.'
@lovelyParadise7651
As simple as it may seem, in my town it would make quite a difference. We are focusing so much on increasing the sizes of the roads, creating alternative routes, etc. while the population is increasing. Vehicles are getting larger and larger, but usually transport only one person to and from work. With enough investment, public transportation can hugely decrease the space needed for roads, congestion on said roads, and the amount of harmful fumes put into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the bit of public transportation that we have so far is difficult to use in most areas, due to infrequency, and some surrounding areas don't participate in the government public transportation program at all. I would try to have the number and frequency of busses increased, and make sure the routes are strategically and optimally placed.
Thanks for your interest :)
@lovelyParadise7651
I remember going camping with my family and my dog, near a beach, over a huge dune. My dog would slide down the dune, and I behind him. We ended the day exhausted and slept like logs. There was a small bay with thousands of crabs living in small caves. I would tie sausages to a piece of rope and play with the crabs.
If I was the Major, I would expand drastically all kinds of public transportation, subways, elevated trains, trams. I would implement powerful computer systems to control the trains and trams, so to increase both frequency and safety to the maximum possible.
I would also invest heavily in maintaining in top condition all public spaces, perticularly public parks. If possible converting more unused land into beautiful parks.
Happiness, to me, is being at peace and feeling at home in the world, appreciating all things big and small, and cultivating loving relationships with the people around me.

Interesting and nostalgic memory. Also, this is my favourite definition of happiness! In your words, why do you think promoting public transport is a good idea?
@lovelyParadise7651
Thank you !
I live in a big city (Buenos Aires) with an even much larger highly urbanized surrounding urban area.
Housing downtown, where most people work, is very limited and prohibitively expensive.
Transportation gets overcrowded. Buses take hours to cross the congested areas of the city. People spend hours every day commuting in awful conditions.
Faster and expanded public transportation, with more space per person, and less time commuting, would increase drastically the quality of living for millions.
It will also make it more convenient to live farther from downtown, thus allowing for cheaper and better housing, in areas with affordable land prices. People could buy a larger piece of land and build a larger house than nowadays.
This would also hugely increase quality of life.
The city gets so congested, it is a nightmare to cross it by bus or car.
Cats should not be allowed in the central areas of the city. But this is only possible if there are enough and better public transportation alternatives.
Synonyms for "is"

Completely makes sense, thanks for clearing it up :)

Thank you for your interest !
Kind regards,

1. What is a memorable experience from your childhood?
Spending a day at the beach on our way to MA. I spent so much time in the water. I had fun with my family and enjoyed picking up seashells.
2. If you were mayor of your town, what would you do?
Offer affordable healthcare to everyone.
3. What defines happiness?
Not wanting to be anywhere else with anyone else doing anything else. Being exactly where you want to be.
@Loriannpen
The beach sounds like a beautiful experience. And affordable healthcare is great for countries that don't have it (assuming you live in America?). Also, I love your definition of happiness, simply being exactly where you want to be. :)
@Loriannpen
I love your definition of happiness
@lovelyParadise7651, hello!
1. What is a memorable experience from your childhood?
o I reckon I've told this story a few times on here, but it's Christmas related, so why not again! It was Christmas Day, and the very first present I opened was a little doll (one that I still have today and will cherish forever)!
2. If you were mayor of your town, what would you do?
o 😮 I'd take better care of mental health!!
3. What defines happiness?
o This is a tricky one. There are so many different factors that contribute to happiness, such as friendship, family, love, relationships - there isn't really a sole description of what happiness is (and if there is, there shouldn't be, because happiness is a very diverse and equal thing, which means different things to different people from different cultures, religions, countries). If I were to describe "happiness" loosely, I'd say something that elates an individual, or something that increases levels of serotonin in the brain (serotonin is the chemical the brain produces to make a person feel "happy" or otherwise positive), though again, this still feels too constricted.
@RebekahRoyal
Love your definition of happiness, it is very hard to say it is a certain thing because it means something different to everyone
@lovelyParadise7651, thank you, I agree!
If I were the mayor of my town I would encourage people to plant more trees outside their houses and public places, make my town a green town and mandate the use of cycle for the kids up-to the age of 18 to make my town pollution free. It's so much of pollution nowadays..
