People run away from me

I don't know were to start. I'm turning 25 and I have zero real friend I feel like people run away from me , I'm so sad of being alone all the time . And also I'm so scared of ending up alone for the rest of my life.

My problem with making friends has been there all of my life, I always have a problem with making friends i don't even know we're to start , but I will try to share some stuff.

In school people will never consider me in any groups I'm always there last option, no one ever wanted me.

In college just the same, but a little worst, people would laugh at me when they see me and never want to speak with me. I spend all years of college without a single friend.

I feel ashamed of myself for who I am, I feel like I want to stay at home and never get out.

I don't know what's wrong with me but every time i met a new person I wish to be friends with him but it never happens, i don't why i can't stop hoping I'm tired of it but really can stop.

It's nothing wrong with you. School and college time can be rough because people are young, immature, figuring themselves and others out, learning how to socialise, can be cruel and judgy, etc. And as for later than that...well in my experience, being someone with uncommon hobbies and interests and views, it can take longer to meet people who you connect with properly. Harder to find those same interests and important qualities. It can feel lonely and sad and definitely hard not to feel like it's a problem with you, but I promise it's not.

Have you tried reaching out online? I found friends online; we hang out every day. Not just chatting but gaming together, being on call so we can chat, etc., and it's improved my life greatly not just the constant company, but finding them specifically. Online opens up more opportunities. You can post on Reddit, for example, and specify looking for online friends or people near where you live, and you can tell them your hobbies and hopefully connect with people there.

Yes I can understand that same feeling. I’m going to be 35 this year and I’ve been married for 15 years this year. He is kind of my only friend. I felt that way too but I agree with the other person on here. It’s okay to take your time and find someone of quality and don’t settle for half of what you deserve. I’m not saying it doesn’t suck. I feel it too. But try and do more activities and start meeting people there like you’re dating them as a friend. Talk to them every pickleball practice or whatever and start scheduling time todo that activity then when ready invite them to an event outside that activity. Things like that. It’s helped me. You can have friends for different topics. The struggle is real!!!!
