Hi, I have orthorexia/atypical anorexia as well as anxiety and depression. I struggle with obsessive thoughts about my body as well as a lot of checking behaviors. I tend to skip meals a lot, not because I am purposely trying to lose weight but because food stresses me out. I was also diagnosed with IBS earlier this year so I have stomach issues that make it difficult for me to eat a normal diet. I used to feel like my ED was under control but after starting this diet for my IBS I have been restricting a lot more again.

@lavenderlemonade98 - Hey there, and welcome to the community. It sounds like there are a lot of factors that have been making it harder to manage eating lately, and it's understandable that stomach issues making it difficult to eat can make the eating disorder even tougher. In talking to doctors, have you been able to understand what is possible for you with your IBS so that you can start working towards ED recovery as well?

@slytherinstarling123 - Welcome! I can definitely get how it could feel like you're alone in this, but I promise that you are far from the only guy struggling - the support group I used to go to had a handful of guys who would come, too. I'm not a guy, but am definitely happy to help support you if you need someone to talk to

Hi folks! I'm a Listener at 7Cups and am also in recovery from an eating disorder (ARFID -> anorexia -> binge eating). It's been 6 years since I left treatment, and although there are still tough days, I feel blessed to be alive and giving back to the community. Reach out anytime for support, and I mean it when I say this - you are all lovely, beautiful people who deserve to be happy :) Don't let the ED win!
