BED

I was severely underweight because of family issues. Later on I’ve gained weight by binge eating. I gained the normal weight and my BMI was normal. Still I kept eating continuously and now I’m overweight. All the things I try usually work for a max of 15 days then I quit. I used to love going to the gym but now because of work I can’t. Please give me some suggestions

It's tough to balance eating disorders. It sounds like you are really frustrated from going from dangerously thin to the heavier side. Finding a healthy balance is difficult when we have all the challenging emotions that we deal with in life.
When we were in the worst of Covid, I watched a video on how to use things in the house to exercise because the gyms were closed. One of the things that stand out in my mind, was they put cans in a back pack and then did strength building exercises with it such as arm curls and such.
With eating disorders we need to be careful not to cause more problems with exercise, but with our physician's guidance, we definitely can reach healthy states of living without being excessive like eating disorders tend to be.
Thanks for posting. It got me to thinking about balance in life.

Hello, I have went through the same thing and I still struggle from overeating from time to time. However, one thing that helped me was reducing my sugar intake. If your diet consists mainly of sweets and junk food, no matter how much you eat you'll still be hungry. You have to eat nutrients and healthy food. Also, I've went through a very tough period in which I used to tell myself I am not allowed to eat this or eat that and it wasnt efficient. I ended up eating more and it was worse everytime. Instead stop getting those biscuits and jungfood and only have around healthy food. So if you do want to eat you don't restrict yourself from eating, but at the same time you'd be fixing your diet gradually. If you want sweets you could go for fruits, dates...

Also, I found out that when I eat at uni beforehand I don't come back home very hungry and I don't end up overeating like I used to. Finally, I wanted to say that this is a tough journey. Don't feel guilty when you overeat then give up entirely because you think you messed up. If you go on a diet make sure to start with small steps and if you lose your control try to get back on track. And when you dont find that small step hard anymore make another step. Do it for the health of your body instead of just to lose weight and hopefully you can overcome this problem. Have a nice day
