Stress Eating
I think that I've been stress eating lately because I have two jobs and haven't had a day off since the end of June. I hate it because every time I sit down I can feel my stomach scrunch up and my thighs feel a lot more fat which makes me self conscious. Is there any way of stopping this?
Hi @charmingClementine3346,
I struggle with stress eating too, on and off. Stress eating is an unhealthy coping mechanism, so finding alternative healthy ones to replace it can help. A couple things that help me are short walks, listening to a song, or chewing gum. It doesn't work perfectly (I was stress eating today) but every day is a new start. What are some things that reduce stress for you?
Also it might not be an option right now, but down the road figuring out a way to stop the stress source can help, such as finding a way to not work two jobs, or finding two jobs that fit together better.
I hope you get some time off soon!
Stress eating is increasing day by day due to the changing lifestyle and busy schedule of humans. It can be dealt with by some yoga and meditation. Start morning walks if possible, have your dinner at least 02 hrs prior to sleep. Some common signs of Stress eating are as under:
- Changing your eating habits when you are stressed.
- Eating even when you are not hungry.
- To avoid dealing with a stressful situation started eating.
- Eating to soothe your feelings.
If ever you feel like this and you need more help then you should talk to a dietitian or a counselor. For more info about stress eating, you can read the website Canada Drugs. Hope it helps.
