Whats something you know about anorexia? It can be anything youd like, ranging from the different symptoms to a fact about it that youd like to share.
@colourfulSpring22 Thanks for this post! And the trigger warning as well. Something that people tend to overlook or forget about with eating disorders in particular are that they can affect anyone. Although statistically, teen girls and young women are more likely to have eating disorders, it's important to remember that boys and men can be affected too and are often less likely to seek help.
hello!! if you're here for the forum hunt, the clue for this post is your :)
Individuals with anorexia nervosa do not maintain or have a body weight that is normal or expected for their age and height. Typically, this means that a person is less than 85% of his/her expected weight. Women with anorexia nervosa often stop having their periods. As far as I know, there are two common types of anorexia:
Binge Type – when you suffer from this type of eating disorder, you purge whenever you eat. This is a result of the overwhelming feelings of guilt because of the relations to eating
Restrictive – it's when you limit the quantity of food consumed, effectively slowly starving yourself
Though two classifications of anorexia nervosa exist, both types exhibit similar symptoms, such as irrational fear of weight gain and abnormal eating patterns.

People who have anorexia often also have sleeping problems.

@roseMelody95, I have heard of this one. I think it is because they are often overthinking it over planning their next day. Although, I need to look into it and read more.
@colourfulSpring22 Yes, partly that. Also because it can be hard to sleep when you're hungry.
