What do you do when you are in way too much pain to get any sleep, but lack of sleep just makes the pain seem worse?!?

stretching is good. Walking , running and swimming is also good

Hi @Pjwarrior81 when something like this happens, in my case, headaches due to stress, I personally find drinking something warm helpful.

I try to make my mind exhausted so it just shut down. I use different logic games where I need to focus or language apps or I read something hard. When mind is really tired it will need sleep no matter what.
