I used to have a support network but now I'm useless
I had a lot of good friends and now I'm alone. I'm stuck at home unless I'm.being hauled to the hospital. Otherwise, my care comes to me
Not therapy though! Too poor to deserve that!
Being disabled and ill isn't new. It really didn't get to me much. Until last year when my I got depression and ptsd problems. I've spent 12 months calling local and national organizations. I have no money. Period. And in America that means I'm worth nothing. I don't know what to do anymore.but I will never have anything to contribute to society. My friends stopped coming around years ago. It hurts that I'm all alone with this.
Wow that's hard Missy. So sorry to hear.. how about family Missy? Have tried to contact them?
I too shy to face anybody now.. i spent a week with my parents finally. I'm planning to move out after new year. Hope everything get better
@Kriskris2 Ty I have close family in my life but if I'm honest with myself they all trigger me and there has just been so much abuse. I love them all but they did bad stuff. :/ I had an aunt who was more like a mom.but she died of lung cancer a few years ago. I wish I could be with her. She was so good to me... Th for caring I don't know what to do anymore but I don't want to burden the universe.
@MissyAmerica
Hey girls I saw the thread and just wanted to say its so nice to see people being kind to eachother even if it is from a distance........I cant imagine the extent of what your going through cause where im from we have a fairly good social support system if your struggling......I know the pain of family triggering negative reactions or self talk.....hang in there remember that you are really strong and though things seem bleak now you can ask for help maybe from a kind social worker......someone who could offer support to you after you recover
@Sunshinelollipops81
If your doing trips to the hospital and they are prescribing medication and its affecting your energy and general health.......please see if you can get in touch with a therapist that might see you for free or a minimal amount......making that step and getting them to help you with the triggers, help you manage them and maybe start to make positive contact with a member of your family you trust and involve them to a degree your happy with thats positive for you
@Sunshinelollipops81
Your not a burden your a light you have strength others dont and sensitivity others dont .....be kind to yourself, your own best friend, make what attempts you can, maybe finding some work anything....something small for a positive focus.....nothing demanding just something so you have some money and be proud of yourself for whatever it is.........that maybe a little while away your life is yours and friends come and go you looking after yourself is going to be the best friendship you ever make
@Sunshinelollipops81 I'm homebound due to health issues. Nobody comes around anymore except medical providers but I appreciate the suggestions. I've thoroughly researched options and I've phoned advocacy charities with no luck. Thanks again.
@MissyAmerica
That was a lot of suggestions not knowing the circumstances... big hugs missy hope you find some relief please dont give up stay in touch xx
@Sunshinelollipops81
Where in america are you?
@Sunshinelollipops81
What are the health problems?
Hi Missy, it's great that you make a call. Hope they can support your condition.
@MissyAmerica. I'm so sorry. I know how important a support system is and when you lose it you feel so alone. Talking to someone really does help. I've lost all my friends as well. Without a support net I feel like I'm going to fall and keep going down, no one to catch me.
I absolutely think America does not have enough affordable resources for people who have a mental condition. What pisses me off is that if you chose to become an addict you can go get methadone for free! Then those who have a mental condition get screwed! I think our country needs to help it's citizens more. Homeless vets, homeless people with mental disorders are not helped. You can have no money no job and get welfare. Even worse you can keep having babies and get assistance. I have to add I am not against welfare as people hit rough spots in their lives. It's those that our country continue to assist and provide for but they just use the system and our taxes pay for it! And those who are trying to stay above water are not offered help.
@EnergySensitive
A very good friend of mine used to say the same and you nearly have more rights as an x con than ya do as someone labeled with mental health issues but really end of the day is pitting the struggles of one against another gonna get anybody anywhere. There are a lot of systemic structural changes that could definitely have a knock on positive and dont give up fighting for them. Gun control, environmental priorities and investment in that industry instead, social reform..... thanks energy xx
@MissyAmerica Sorry, I hit the wrong button. Look at the homeless statistics in America. A majority of them are mentally ill. Health insurance is great but unfair at the same time. It saddens me.
I don't know what state you are in or what may be offered, such as a sliding scale pay. Also at one point I found a church. I am not religious but I did counseling through the pastor.
I wish you luck!
@EnergySensitive Ty I'm still trying. Not giving up without trying first. Ty :)
@MissyAmerica
How have things been? I havnt been able to log into the communities for a while....... how have things unfolded? Have things improved?
