Streaming TV for the Blind

In today's age with all Streaming TV how does one switch channels on TV.  My brother is Blind and with the loss of cable tv, and everything streaming what equipment is available for the blind and handicap-ed.  Any ideas would be helpful.  Live in Alaska and not much support from local internet providers.  Thanks in advance for any ideas that work.  He uses echo to turn on tv now, but once your on echo cannot change channels to his favorites.
