My current status

Regmo July 20th, 2023

I used to be normal and work a full time job in information technology. My company went out of business because of the recession. I came down with a neck injury for six months. I was hired by a consulting firm but they didn't have any clients for me. I got a job as a truck driver and was intending to return to I.T. after the recession was over, but was injured in an accident. I'm currently disabled and living in a group home and the landlords are bad people. I'm very worried and stressed about it every day. I'm on federal disability but I don't have enough money to move out. If I file a complaint with my social worker, the landord/lady is going to give me an eviction notice.

@Regmo Dunno what state you live in but the threat from your landlord is probably illegal. Check your local/state laws regarding tenancy or tenants' rights. Complaining to a social worker is not a valid reason to cancel a lease or expel a tenant. If you are on disability then you should be able to pay the more important bills if not every last little one...

If your landlord's move is as illegal as it is unethical, you may well qualify for legal aid. Your area has to have some kind of association or agency for legal aid for the poor. Your status as a disabled person also has some legal standing as well. Gather your info! If you can, find a lawyer online & tell him about your situation & see if you have a case! You just might have one!

in the past i lived in an afc home: same thing happened to me when i filed a report. I would have your case manager help you look for another place. Best of luck
