AFOs or SMOs?
what do yall think would work best for a mild case of pronation in ankles?(for context im flatfooted and it makes my ankles slant)
@LaVonne08 Hi there, welcome to 7 Cups.
Your question is very important and it is impossible to give an answer from a distance. I would suggest taking professional advice as the wrong orthotics can cause problems with development. It is easy to Google and answer but really gait analysis is needed. Also remember that we are not here to give advice, especially with something so important. I hope you get your answers.
Like Misty said, we can't know what someone needs, medical advice isn't allowed here and most wouldn't be qualified anyone.
Even for those who are qualified, I think it's really difficult to figure out all of someone's needs online even with good video. Maybe some experts can do it well, but I would imagine a hands-on physical exam would be useful.
I have had issues with pronation, I needed custom foot orthotics, no SMOs/AFOs. I am also aware that the major of that issue is due to issues with my feet, some congenital and some that redeveloped over time.
