Muscular/bone difficulties :)
Hello! I couldn't find a thread for bone disorders, fragile bone structures, painful movement from weak joints, arthritis or non-specific muscle issues, so I created this thread to see if anyone would like to share their personal experiences with any related difficulties?
I have a condition called CMT which makes my muscles very weak so I can't participate in any sporting activites or walk up the stairs very easily, which is paired with hand spasms, muscle spasms and weak bones so that dropping a book on my foot could break it! So I have to be extra careful, but i'm still living life to the fullest I can :) I'd love to hear if anyone else has anything like this? :)
i love hearing that you're still living life to the fullest despite these issues. i try to do the same thing with nerve damage from a spinal accident. although i have full (pretty much) use of my legs (although one is weaker than they other), they hurt all the time. it's making my goal of getting into better shape hard, but i'm still trying. i hope some other folks on this forum have some of these same issues and can share with you. in the meantime, i totally support your efforts!
@falconer42 I'm sorry that you're going through this! Part of my condition affects my nerves also so I get burnt by oil when cooking and in the shower by hot water a lot because I can't tell how hot or cold it is (but I save a fortune on coats in the winter!) and I can completely understand the difficulty with getting into shape! I tried to go to the gym a few months ago but it hurt like crazy just to stretch that way, managed to lose 20 pounds by walking though! :) You're really inspiring, thank you for sharing your condition with everyone! :D
Hi I have a rare bone disease called fibrous Dysplasia. Benign tumors that eat healthy bone cause extreme pain, deformity and reoccurring brakes. No cure and surgery is the primary recourse.
