Gallbladder/bile-duct illnesses and food

versatileYard8117 November 12th, 2018

If any of you, like me, has an illness or a syndrome that affects your gallbladder and/or bileducts... I want to know if you're also affected by what you eat or drink!

I've had to readjust my entire diet this year because of my illness, and I find it really difficult to eat with others now (as I can hardly eat any fat, and can't eat so much other stuff like onions, raw vegetables, fried things, full-fat products, nuts, meat.. the list goes on), and I was wondering if any of you out there have the same issues, and how you deal with it! Do you have any nice recepies you can recommend? Any go-to restaurants and such? Do you still eat out, and if so, how do you prepare yourselves? :)

Hope you all have a brilliant start to your week!! <3

I had to totally change my diet for years. They finally removed my gallbladder about a month ago and now it is even more changes without a gallbladder. One thing I have learned over the last year with appointments is I should have pushed my doctors to help me more and I wouldn't have had to have emergency surgery for the removal.

Here is a good Web MD page that has ideas for food.

@DanaMH I can relate so much to your experience. It seems most doctors don't take gallbladder problems as serious as they should. For me it took five years to even get somewhat of a diagnosis, and during that time my illness progressed and changed. If there's one thing I've learned through it all it's that it takes a lot of stubbornness to get the help you need, and it shouldn't be like that. I hope your new health journey post-gallbladder-removal is going well, and that you're starting to find a diet that works!
And thank you so much for the link, I can't wait to look through all of the tips! :)
