Heya everyone!
I want to deeply apologize for the late check in. I have not been doing so well lately :(
This week I would like to talk about how social media affects disability. This is a very mixed topic for some. Some feel it is helpful because of the support groups and support you can recieve. Some feel that it is depressing to look and see everyone else living full perfect lives, while we are struggling to even get out of bed in the morning.

I like social media. There is control with it, if something is harmful, limit it until it isn't/cut it out. With facebook, the unfollow feature is handy, gives more control over choosing when to check something out instead of it popping up in a news feed.
I think online support groups are super helpful, especially for rare stuff. For some it can even be lifesaving as it can be a way to find a doctor who actually knows about a condtion, or getting tests done, or certain preventative measures being done.
I joined a few related to a condition my doctor suspected I had and it now seems very unlikely. Just being told from others in my country when I could expect certain test results allowed me to relax a bit.
For plants, I like edible stuff. Hard to pick a favourite. I really like growing tomatoes as there are just so many different varieties and they are so much better than what's in grocery stores. My new favourite this year was stevia - unfortunately when I took cuttings to save over the winter they never did root, just rotted. I have some dried leaves in my freezer though, so at least I can enjoy it that way.
I'm kind of new to this forum. I'm not really sure where to start or where to post about my disabilities. I have several together. And they all affect each other. They make my depression and anxiety worse. And I feel like I will never find someone to be in a relationship with and love because I'm too much trouble to deal with. I'm having surgery next week to have 5 teeth cut out, then getting a partial denture. I don't want anyone to see me while I don't have those teeth, but I know I'll have to leave the house sometimes.
Sorry to be a downer. I'm just nervous and depressed and anxious and I don't have anywhere to turn to. Thanks for listening.

Social media is what you make out of it. Sometimes it's positive and sometimes it's negative. Just remember don't post anything that would easily become cyberbullying.

Yes I use social media support groups like cups and dis-cord. I've found it very supportive.
🌻 What is your favorite flower/plant?
My favorite plant/flower is the dandelion that you can blow on and make a wish.
