hey guys, i'm Nat. ive been struggling with depression since i was 14 (so about 5-6 years now) and recently it's gotten worse. i'm dealing with somethign traumatic that happened over the summer, as well as a really toxic home environment. it's also really hard to get up in the morning, or motivate myself to go to class and do assignments which is putting me behind in my classes... but i really can't find a reason to continue.

i'm here to find some support, or even some friends. i hope i can find some peole who whill listen, or some people who can relate.

Welcome to the subcommunity, I am sorry to hear that it has been getting worse. Just know that we are here for you <3. I understand struggling with lack of motivation and having trouble getting up in the morning is there anything that you could try to help to cope with your emotions? Just know that we are here for you and will support you the best that we can <3

@KarrotCake Thank you,this means a lot to me. I usually only get up if i have to, like if i have an appointment to get to. I also try to find motivation by doing things with my boyfriend and housemates, but it can be difficult since they cant be there for me every second of every day.

Have you tried doing some self care activites to help feel good about yourself Something on here could help out <3 maybe I find it helps to motivate me and feel better about myself maybe it could help you too

@natchoo Hi, I'm care, I have depression so I can relate to some of what you're sharing. I'm sorry it's been so difficult. Does anything help you feel better? A walk, art, cleaning, dancing? I only mention those things because once I move I start to feel a little better. Yoga helps me the best because it makes me breath.
do you have a favorite class or teacher you can confide in? Or a good friend that can listen?

i haven't posted to anyone be fore so I hope it helps to know I'm here & listening. Maybe we can combine our success stories and make it better for each of us. We can do this.

@Care2001 Hey Care, i'm glad someone can relate to what i'm going through, it means a lot.

I used to read, write, and draw a lot, but i don't do those things anymore because i either don't have time, or i have no motivation to do it. I also find sometimes my mind tends to wander to places i dont want it to. Maybe i'll try yoga though, i've never done that before :)

I hope you know you aren't alone either. if you want to post about anythign you're going through here, you can. It makes me feel a little better when theres someone to relate to
