February 2022 Events - Love Yourself Week
Hello hello everyone!
Depression and anxiety support are super excited to be collaborating to celebrate love yourself week with all of you from February 14-18!
When we don’t love ourselves, we may feel inadequate, shameful, angry, lonely, guilty, and rejected. Often we may engage in negative self-talk that worsen these feelings and create depressive or anxious thoughts. Let’s learn about how we can change these habits and engage in more self-loving behaviour!
What does it mean to love yourself?
It’s important to note that self-love can look different for different people - we are all unique. Self-love will look and feel different for each and every one of us. Learning to love ourselves is not easy; it takes a lot of time, effort, and practice, but by acting in ways that are self-loving, we can slowly learn that we are worthy.
Accepting yourself as you are for everything that you are
Finding peace and being comfortable within ourselves
Appreciating ourselves through actions that support our growth both mentally and physically
Having a high regard for our own well-being and happiness
Taking care of yourself and own needs
How can we learn to love ourselves?
Try to be gentle with ourselves
Allow ourselves and our experience to be as they are
Talking to and about yourself with love: be self-compassionate and practice self-gratitude
Putting yourself first
Not judging yourself, especially over things you cannot control - focus on your strengths
Trusting yourself
Being true to and nice to yourself
Creating healthy boundaries
Forgiving yourself
Becoming mindful

Self-care
Taking breaks
Spending time doing activities we enjoy
Drinking water and eating healthy
Getting enough sleep

What is one thing you love about yourself?
- One thing I love about myself is that I love to help others.
What is at least one way loving yourself might impact your life?
- Loving yourself can boost your confidence and helps in promoting self-care. You focus more on yourself and get to know your strengths and weaknesses.
What I love about myself would be how loving and kind I am but I don't put up with bull crap!
If I loved myself more it would impact myself life by not thinking that I'm not good enough.
Thankyou for the wonderful post @EmmaE self care and self love is incredibly important, especially in the current state of the world kindness is such a virtue :)
What is one thing you love about yourself?One thing I love about myself physically is perphaps a little strangely my left ear :P, it's a very unique shape and now its pierced I've started loving it instead of hating it as I always have, what makes us different makes us 🤗. One thing I love mentally would also be my ability to understand, as much as I overlook myself to only what I can do I really love how much I can do when I am capable I love how I can understand.
What is at least one way loving yourself might impact your life?One of the biggest ways loving yourself might impact your life is through allowing for positive self acceptance and reflection. Being able to have a realistically positive view on ourselves can change our entire outlook, love is a powerful thing :)

aww of course! i completely agree, kindness is so important! your left year sounds amazing :p you're so right - our uniqueness is what makes us all so beautiful! being able to understand is so incredible as well, it can totally change our perspectives on things.
loving yourself can definitely allow for positive self acceptable and reflection which can change our outlooks for sure! love is soo powerful <3 thank you so much for your lovely answers!

What is at least one way loving yourself might impact your life?
I love my open-mindedness. I love that my optimism is sometimes contagious hehe and it makes me more happy.
I love my determination, I love that I am a survivor, and I love that I am able to use my story to help others see the survivor in themselves! Ok, that's more than one, I know, but they're all intertwined. 😊😊
Loving myself took some time to do, but it has allowed me the freedom to be who I am, to face the world standing firm in who I am, and not need anyone's approval or validation to do so. 💫💥💫
