Dealing with Major Depression

I have been hiding my depression for years. I feel ashamed to tell people about it. Eventually, you can’t hide your depression, It slowly starts taking over your life. *How do you deal with your depression?

-Everytime bad thoughts would come up, I start brushing my teeth, drink water or do skin care. If I don't care about myself, who else would -I started doing workout, or learning new things like cooking. For the purpose to tell myself: "wow now I know how to do this and that, I'm proud of myself for that" -I try to distract myself or make myself busy. Cleaning my room maybe or just cleaning my mirror. studying with apps. -Tell myself that I really try to be genuinely happy, remind myself what made me happy in the last few days. (like playing video games with my friends made me happy the last few days)
