Any resources for therapist?

CinnamonRoll10 January 18th, 2020

Ive been wanting to go see a again therapist for a little while now. Ive been to a few sessions about 2 years back, but ultimately stopped them because my mom stopped scheduling them. I want to go back and talk to a professional, but I am terrified to ask my mom because of her history of dealing with my depression and anxiety. I feel like I cant trust her with what I tell her, and she wont listen to me when I tell her about the things I go through. Is there any way I can talk to an actual, certified therapist safely and without the need to tell my mom? What resources or people are out there?

Hi,

It depends on the legal framework for where you live. In the uk, for instance, the line is drawn at 16 years old, but younger people can contract medical treatment themselves if they demonstrate mental and emotional competancy ( so-called Gillick competancy).

In the USA the rules will be different, and there are different rules in each state.
