Is my depression going to push everyone away from me?
I'm currently suffering with depression and I'm recently moving away from being suicidal, despite the depression getting worse.
I'm very open about it, trying to reach out to the people around me for help, but it's become apparent that those people don't actually want to help. I'm worried that the people around me are going to be pushed away from me or if they're pushing me away because of it.
I understand it's hard to deal with someone who's depressed, but it's not easy to pretend it's not there either.
I don't know if I want therapy or counselling since that would make my parent aware of it, and my situation could get worse if I tell them. I tried to do online counselling, but I always get too scared in the end.
Should I just try to look happy instead?
What should I do? I don't want to lose them.
I push a lot of people away... And my depression isn't helping. Sometimes I get attention and people to worry too much about me for my depression but I don't want to bother them too much with my problems
Of course it is, who wants to be around a sad person. Old relationships end, and new ones never form.
@Minjimus this is so relatable
I feel like it is.. so I find myself smiling and laughing in front of people but I cry when I'm by myself. I have kids so I can't completely just give up. I feel like it also is hindering my relationship cause when I am having down days or weeks my BF doesn't know what to do so he basically ignores me but that just makes me feel worse. I don't talk to anyone when I'm down but even on good days I'm so anti social that I only have 3 people I talk to on a regular basis.... My mom sister, brother.
I feel like it will and that is what I
@Bunnylover123 put faith into people if they say they wont leave you they wont.
@Bunnylover123 does he know that you like him?
@Julia21599
yeah. He likes me back we hung out at the mall a couple weekends ago and he kissed me we both really like each other

I push people away a lot. Sometimes you can be your bestfriend. Try to tell yourself everyday what would a person who would love themselves do. Small goals . When u appreciate your own efforts , do those little things, achieve small goals. You would eventually enter into a zone whr you would love everything around you.
It's completely possible. People are going to do what they want to do. But regardless, you should put your faith in the fact that if they really love you as you are, they'll stick with you. If not, you were better off without them anyway. Stay strong, this aspect in itself is one of the most difficult parts of depression.

yes I know it is @Whatshername1999
thank you all so much for your support I really do appreciate it <3 <3 <3
I honestly think that i push others just because im.
Maybe try to explain to your friends as many times as you can, even if you already said it to them.Possibly i would definetely tell my bestfriednd.So he knows whats he up to and undestand you more.If they tell you that you are being annoying then... as much cliche it sounds, they just deserve you but becareful if they that you are reminding them about it too much,Thats a little bit different but you can try to give them some space or explain that you need to vent it out.Try to choose right words, prepare it before on the paper, althought try to be honest as much as you can.
Its hard to ehm trying to be helpful because i dont know much about your situations so i hope atleast this helps.I wish you luck!
feeling like i need 911 to call drs
Get help if possible. If you aren't in severe case of family problems such as being under abusive parents, I would say let them know about your problems. If they care about you, they would want to help. I'm gonna assume that you are still young and in school since you said that your parents would know if you take counselling. But you should. Depression is better to act fast then later. School counselling would be free for you and would be the easiest for you to get access to. Since your friends seem to know about it, it shouldn't matter too much if you take school counselling.
I know that it's scary for you to talk about it to your parents but it's most likely that they already know that you are dealing with some sort of problems. Most people think that they can hide and act but people around them are likely to catch on a slip or two that you would make. Most people deal with depression at some point in their lives. It's the severity of it that defferenciates it.
Not talking and pretending should be the last option. If you are fortunate enough to take other form of help, you definately should. If you want to take counselling outside of school, I suggest you do research and go to the one right for you. If you are a teenager, you should talk to someone who deals with teenagers a lot. And so on.
