When you're stuck?
Whenever I'm stuck. All I want to do is be productive. Productivity makes me believe that my life is going somewhere. Productivity could be anything you want. You could paint, draw, learn an instrument, write or even do 7 cups. Before 7 cups, I didn't feel like my life was going anywhere. Afterwards, everyday feels like I can take on the world. What kinds of things do you do, when you feel stuck? Share your thoughts!
It might just be me. To help keep my mind off of all of the stressful things in life. I liked to play games with friends or family. My grandmother knows more than I do that social interaction is the best healer. So, she frequently likes to play WoW or HoTS with me. The point is... It's also great to have a support group. If you've got one, keep doing what you're doing.
Not to make this a political kind of post. But I feel like it needs to said; regardless of who you are or what you believe. There are people who are suffering. As a listener, I have had more requests from people who are in airports, outside of the U.S. who need emotional support. Several students from Florida State University, on student visas, have been detained or not allowed re-entry to the U.S. and I feel for them. I really do. The world is always going to affect us in one way or another; it's how you deal with the pain and the hardships of life. No doubt, I'll see my best friend again. Even though he's trapped in Yemen right now, he'll come back and we will have McDonalds again. I have hope. The point is to have hope and not let all the bad things that the world does to you, affect and increase your depression.
Things I like to do during depression holes:
Watch my favorite movie, tv shows or comedy skits
Play games with my family
Having some alone time for self-care
What kinds of things do other people do?
A good sleep or nap can make any mood a little bit better. I find that taking a day to yourself, just to take care of yourself, is the best you can do for depression.
One thing that I find to be beneficial is to stay active and vigilant when dealing with your depression. Ignore all those bad things in your life, accept them as things that life throws you. But don't let them get to you. Let the good times and achievements get to you.
When stress starts to overwhelm you. Remember to think about all the things you've accomplished, before the stress started. It'll help you feel a lot better about the situation.
This is more directed to the ladies. PMS is terrible for me. I feel the most insecure and depressed during this time. But I just have to aware that everything just feels awful because of the hormones changing. Remind yourself that it's a temporary feeling.
@LightLithy This is such a wonderful thread, thank you for sharing this with the community :D
I like to listen and play music! But drawing also is great :)
Some things in life can't be stopped. I realized a good friend of mine was murdered, and there's nothing I can do to bring him back. However, he wouldn't want me to throw myself into a whirlwind of self-pity. He would want me to keep moving forward and stay positive. Though he's gone, it hurts. But I can't let this ruin my life and I have to keep living on, for myself in memory of him.
