Physical symp./manifestations...depression related or something else

munchiegoosie December 20th, 2021

Hi,

So I know that depression can involve physical symptoms/manifestations. But does anyone know if there is some sort of 'line drawn' that separates whether certain symptoms/frequency of symptoms are likely attributed to depression (in my case, Major Depressive Disorder) vs. something else is going on?

As in, for example, if someone was having certain symptoms X number of times on X number of days/week, it would be crossing the 'line' of them being attributed or caused by depression.

I'm sorry if that was confusing. I'm just still trying to learn about my symptoms/manifestations and my different illnesses. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi!

This is a great question but unfortunately there's no good answer to it.

Physical symptoms of depression can happen x times a day, x times a week, x times a month.

Physical symptoms of another illness can also happen x times a day, x times a week, x times a month.

The main difference between the two is going to be through your GP/health provider; who can work with you to rule out any underlying causes and seeing if you can find any patterns.

Hope this helps
