How many more lives?
So I feel like I want to scream what follows from a roof or something but this will have to do.
One of my dear friends, who has always been a very happy bubbly loving person, recently told me she thinks she has been battling depression for the last year. my first thoughts were how did I miss this and why does this amazing person have this?
But it made me think of all my friends through the years who have battled depression, self harm and suicidal thoughts. And i decided something.
It is too many. Too many of my people that have had to battle depression. Too many lives lost to suicide, beyond the celebrities that we are hearing about.
And I asked myself and I ask you, how many more before we do something to change this? To stop this?
Because no one should have to deal with this.

The big problem about this is, it's never going to stop. The numbers are only going to get smaller. People will still have depression people will still die from it's symptoms, but there will be less off them that have to have a full on battle with the behemoth, it will become more managable for the majority of people. This outcome would realistically only be achieved if nearly everyone spoke up about it, but unfortunatly no one wants to.
