Having some really bad dreams! [Trigger warning]

generousPlum9245 February 11th, 2015

Hello

Ok So This is really hard for me to tell people because its such as bad dream which is constantly recurring every night.

I used to be with someone a few years ago and she had a new born baby, things were incredibly stressful and at one point I saw an image of me throwing the baby out the window, I remember freezing for that moment when I was holding him and seeing an image and imagining the reaction of what I had done, then I was thinking no.

So Anyway After about 16 months we broke up and its been about a year since I've seen him, (I cant see him because he is not my son)

Now I work 6 days a week and rarely take a break but recently for the past month I have been having dreams about him and constant ones, Its hard for me to describe it because it seems so real.

I had this dream that he was only a few days old and for some reason I thought it was a good idea to put him in a box and send him off to another country, he wasnt crying when the box was sealed.

Then the dream switched and I opened the box and looked at him and punched him, then I was constantly hitting him, strangeling him.

And this keeps happening in different forms of dreams, I don't know what to do, during the day I'm fine I go to work as normal socialise but as soon as I go to bed I have this dream,

I suppose I should just ignore it but I guess I should tell someone.

maybe it's some type of a translation from your mind that you miss him? or that it feels strange that he's no longer in your life. Or maybe you feel guilty towards him for not being in his life anymore?

when I have strange dreams I usually can sort of understand what my head is trying to tell me. Or if I focus on the feeling a dream gives me I can usually translate it. I think the human brain is just kind of a maniac that tries to explain things to us in very dramatic ways

I am by far not a dream expert, but I think it's a good idea to realise dreams are often very cryptic and vague. As far as I know they are heavily influenced by emotions and often portray actions you wouldn't actually do when you are awake, which makes it hard to translate a dream into something you're dealing with.

That said, dreams like that seem pretty bad (I can't imagine waking up from something like that and feel refreshed), but It's hard to say what's actually the cause. Meaning it can be something about the persons involves (e.g. the ex and the son) but it can also be a projection of a more hidden(?) emotion.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
