Depression - Faceless Enemy

hipsta November 26th, 2017

What is this depression you speak of?

An entity... faceless enemy.

Free of all humanly chains and bounds. Doesn't have feet, yet it roams the streets; looking for people to grab with no hands at all.

A shadow that follows you from within and without.

Let it have power over you and soon you'll find yourself chasing after it.

You feed the shadow and it feeds on you.

This is a piece I wrote as an early teen. Ive been depressed since childhood, and Ive taken up writing as a form of healing. Which helps a lot. So go on and post about your depression and share support!

Good day ✌🏻

@hibsta Eating breakfast is important! Great idea!

If I don't get enough sleep, I am not able to be my best. Sleeping in complete darkness, in a cool room with no noise (except a fan maybe) helps me have a better day. Does that help you?

Do you or anyone else have any other ideas?

@wasabizee

i totally agree Zee! Im not myself if I dont get enough sleep in complete quiet. My depresseion tends to affect my sleep some nights so in the morning Im all gloomy. Hence I try to get my sleep right.

Thanks for sharing your writing with us! Writing is indeed a great way to heal, be it through poetry, journaling or any medium that suits you. Depression during the younger years can really affect people and I feel it is an important topic that isn't discussed enough. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and experiences. :)

@LilGreenBird I truly feel the same. Its a topic close to heart and I feel like it needs to be discussed and shed light on since its such a suppressed matter in our society. Do you write as well? Id love to read your work.
