Can Anyone Recommend Some Good Self Help Books?

independentPlace3911 May 8th, 2020

Everyone, I am here because of a recent bad breakup 30 days ago. I am depressed and feel extremely anxious. I was hired for my dream job and then was unable to start after Covid19 took the job away. So I am very, very sad. 7cups is a good start I feel. But I need to read in the time that I have so I can hopefully change my life around. Has anyone read any good books for depression? I need to get a handle on this situation. Thank you.

@independentPlace3911 Not a personal recommendation, but a book I've seen highly recommended is Feeling Good by David Burns.

The ad says:

Dr. Burns describes how to combat feelings of depression so you can develop greater self-esteem. This best-selling book has sold over 4 million copies worldwide to date. In a recent national survey of mental health professionals, Feeling Good was rated #1—out of a list of 1000 books—as the most frequently recommended self-help book on depression in the United States.

@RarelyCharlie That's really interesting. I was just on Amazon browsing that exact book. Thank you.
