Im close to giving up.

The fact that this is the fourth or fifth time that I have been ghosted by a staffing agency or had my application rejected is insane. The only people getting back to me in a timely manner are MLM remote sales companies and scammers. Other than my father giving me money to be able to buy groceries to survive, I have solely been depending on my irregular Depop sales, survey and receipt scanning apps, and apps that pay you to play games. Every time I open Indeed, I am depressed. I have no car and I am not qualified for 75% of the jobs listed on the site, which require at least a year of in-field experience and a valid driver's license (I need a job to be able to save up for driving school-- my dad was initially planning to take me, but things changed). I have been asking for help, begging for referrals on social media over and over, yet my peers ignore me every time or are in the same boat as I am. Every month that passes, I feel worse and worse about myself, like something is wrong with me. People say to lie on my resume or use my experience selling on Mercari or giving presentations for my university public health classes as experience, but at this point I don't even know if these will work. Advice is greatly appreciated.

If anyone has ideas on how I can lie on my resume(s), here are some things that I have done in my lifetime that can probably pass off as experience.

  • Selling my clothes on apps (mainly on Depop, used to be Mercari until they changed their policies and drove away a huge chunk of their user-base)
  • Giving presentations in class and using Canva/Google Slides/Microsoft Powerpoint
  • I recently did a typing test, waiting on the results
  • Various volunteer and community service activities in high school, college and currently.
  • 2 years of experience in food service (Chipotle and a college dining hall)
  • 1 year of warehouse and online order-picking experience (it was like Target's fulfillment or Walmart's OGP but its from Amazon Fresh, everyone had these jobs back during COVID)
  • Lots and lots of essays and research papers.
  • Basic experience with Excel Spreadsheets. I did a Coursera course for this. Open to doing more Coursera courses but not sure if they will help me.
  • I'm good with social media but not so much with being an influencer. I'm open to this. There's an app called Kale that pays you to sponsor products through challenges

I want to change careers but everything on the market is either highly competitive or doesn't interest me at all. I refuse to tutor unless it's with one of those remote chat sites like tutor.com and I'm getting paid. I refuse to teach due to students being horrible, yet I got multiple recruiters asking me to join teaching programs. The careers that I like are highly competitive and are seen as worthless in the market (graphic design, art, web design, computer programming, IT, game development). I do not want to go into stuff like nursing but at this point I have to go into something to pay my bills, even if it means it will drain me physically and mentally, because I have no connections. I wanted to go into STEM but that market is oversaturated too, imagine wasting all that time studying and busting your *** and retaking classes over and over because you were told STEM would promise rewarding careers after graduation. just to not be able to find anything in your field. I have no hope for the future. It's only going to get worse. I can't even get hired at Walmart and there are people my age making over 60-75K a year in commissions, affiliate marketing, and investments.

@Tinywhisper11

Thank you bless your soul. I was having an emotional breakdown when I typed that but honestly it's how I truly feel. I don't think it's going to get any better.

@PopPunkPrincess17 I am really sorry to hear this. I truly am. I understand times are hard for you, right now. But things can and do get better, it may just take a little time. So, please give it some more time.
