Depression

Olive1Q82 August 14th

In the past few years, I’ve done worse compartmentalizing my depression and anxiety. This makes being at work very challenging. Today was a really bad day and I don’t know how I was able to survive the day at work…

On Friday, my depression was so severe that I asked if I could have the day off, but was told no. Do you ever feel like, well, one day they’ll just be wheeling me into a psychiatric hospital if I can’t take time off for my mental health. 😆 Funny, not funny…

@Olive1Q82 can you talk to the doctor about getting a sick note?

Unfortunately I don’t think that’ll work with my job. 😔

@Olive1Q82 honey, this might not be what you want to hear, but health is priority, it needs to come first. If you keep pushing and it ends in a breakdown of something, then your gonna loose your job anyway. You gotta ask yourself is your job really worth risking your health for. There will be other job s other opportunities, please look after yourself ❤

You’re right because I’m barely functioning right now. 😔

On Friday, I was having a terrible day. I tried to stay home, but was forced to go in for a team luncheon. My whole life I’ve been the responsible one—but severe depression leaves you incapable of being responsible. I’ve literally felt lifeless and not in control of my mind or body. (I don’t know how I’m getting to and from work.)

I’ve always been responsible but I have the worst thoughts now—like I want to get fired because I need the break. 😔

We aren’t meant to go on and on and on without a break, but most workplaces do not understand and you can’t talk to people—or the whole company knows.

i appreciate you listening and your response! 🌸

@Olive1Q82 wraps you up in a cosy blanket and hugs you tightly ❤ I have depression too, so I understand how hard it is. I think at this point the most responsible thing to do is take a break ❤ but I don't know your situation, so it's easy for me to say, but probably not so easy for you to do.

but through anything and everything you have 7 cups, and me, to talk to and support you, you never have to struggle alone ❤❤
