Depressed partner
Hey everyone, I just found this side because I was looking for some community support (I've already got a therapist but anyway). My partner is in a very heavy episode of depression and I don't know what to do. His therapy won't start for a few more weeks and our relationship is on edge because I don't feel seen or heard by him. Has anyone here been in this situatuon? I feel so helpless...
Thank you for your answers. Have a lovely day.

Depression is different for many in a deep depression.
Many in depression do ignore or neglect their partners it is not a reflection on you ... sometimes we cannot help it. We do not mean to hurt our partners when in depression.
If it was easy there would be ideas to help. support him in what he does need hope his therapy starts sooner. Sometimes the fog lifts and you being there and not holding the depression against him ... getting through this will make you stronger as a couple and maybe he can tell you what could help him IF he falls in a hole of depression again.

Sounds like a tough situation. I know we all depend on our spouse or partner more than we realize. When that's not there, it can be really challenging. There are many good listeners on this site. Hope you can find the support that you need when you need it. Also, the community in the forums is really good.
Thank you for your support. We are still in a tough spot, but I think we are getting a little better. At the moment I'll try to take it day by day.
