Coping with the holiday blues
Holidays are generally viewed as a time of happiness and relaxation with family and friends. For some people, it can be a stressful period full of painful reflection ,sadness, loneliness, anxiety, and depression.
Even people who love the holidays experience the blues sometimes in this busy season. The holidays are often a time of high emotion and demands, which can leave a lot of people feeling stressed and exhausted.
To cope better in the holidays it is always wise to be surrounded as much as you can with loved ones and your support system .
Avoid to much alcohol as this is a depressant than can trigger more of your negative emotions.
Try to get some exercise in your daily routine to boost your spirit and give you more more dopamine which can help relieve some of the depression.
Learn to put some of your own needs above others as people tend to be alot more demanding , know your limits and dont overdo what you dont feel comfortable doing.
Have some alone time to relax quiet time, read a book, listen to music, take a bath, do yoga, or some other relaxing activity can do be beneficial to relieve your stress .

As great as the holidays
can be for some, it can be very tough on others. I think it’s also important to
check-in with our loved ones and be mindful of each other. I also think you
said it best: “Learn to put some of your own needs above others.” This can be
hard to do sometimes. Very great reminder!💜
