joining the depression support sub-community leadership team

hi everyone! this is a post to clarify and lay out the the depression subcommunity leadership ladder!

are you interested in joining the depression team? that's so incredible and we'd be more than happy to have you join us! there are lots of things you can do to get involved in our community and help support our lovely members! everything you can do to get involved is outlined below from lowest to highest:

forum/general community side: (this is for you if you love creating/replying to posts in our forums!)

forum supporter (members and listeners) - maintains engagement in the forums by posting and replying to threads with compassion and support

requirements for members:

• 25+ forum upvotes
• 50+ forum posts
• taken member oath
• quota: 10+ posts per month in each chosen subcom

requirements for listeners:

• verified listener
• 25+ forum upvotes
• 50+ forum posts
• taken the listener community guide and the listener oath
• quota: 10+ posts per month in each chosen subcom

project agent (listeners) - helps lead a specific project or team

• 1+ month as a listener
• verified listener

teen community star/community mentor (members and listeners) - passionate about growing and developing the subcommunity. responsible for overseeing the activity and safety in your chosen area and you’ll work closely with forum supporters and project agents to bring supportive posts and events daily

requirements:

• age 15 or older
• verified listener badge (applicable to listeners only)
• 3 weeks as a forum supporter/project agent
• 100+ Chats
• 100+ forum posts
• 100+ upvotes
• quota: make 10 forum posts within subcommunity and complete 10 one-on-one chats with other listeners

community mentor leader (listeners) - tasked with multiple responsibilities based on teamwork, moderation and coverage in a sub-community. this is a high level leadership role which requires creative problem solving, healthy boundaries and willingness to offer long term support

requirements:

• 1+ months as a Community Mentor
• Adult-Teen Listener
• 300+ Chats
• 200+ Forum Posts
• 100+ Forum Upvotes
• 20+ Written Reviews

chatroom/group support side: (this is for you if you love participating in our chatrooms or leading discussions!)

room supporter (members and listeners) - someone who creates the desired environment they feel comfortable in, supports and makes the room more welcoming for both members and listeners

requirements for members:

• no “newbie” badge i.e. being a member for 4+ weeks
• have the “supportive smile” badge
• have completed the compassion course

requirements for listeners:

• no “newbie” badge i.e. being a listener for 4+ weeks
• have 1100+ cheers (novice level 4)
• have 1+ positive written reviews
• have 2+ Group Support Chats

chatroom moderator (listeners) - as a moderator in the group support room, you will be creating and maintaining a supportive and positive community culture in the member chatrooms

requirements:

• 25+ group chats
• 2000+ cheers
• 4 or higher overall star rating on Listener profile
• 3+ written reviews
• have verified listener badge and graduate badge
• no behavior reports in the past 3 months
• been a Listener for at least 6 weeks
• been a Room Supporter for at least 2 weeks
• quota: send 100+ messages in member group chatrooms

support team leader/teen star (listeners) - lead the support team for a topic you are passionate about! You will responsible for organizing discussions or events in the relevant topic room, spend time monitoring and engaging in the room and pay attention to what goes on in this space

requirements:

• been a listener for at least 8 weeks
• apprentice listener level or higher
• at least 10 written member text reviews
• 15+ help guides
• 500+ compassion hearts
• listener oath badge
• already a group mod
• 150+ 1 on 1 chats
• 100+ group chats
• 800+ cheers

if you aren't interested in an 'official' role, that's perfectly okay! there are also lots of other things you can do to get involved in both the forum and group support sides of the community:

participating in our group support and forum discussions

responding to forum posts or checking the 'needs reply' section to offer support

participating in our monthly events

replying to our check-ins

welcoming new subscribers
