I definitely think our languages should be protected, they are a part of our history, culture, and who we are, they are beautiful like art and they are important to who we are as people.

One of the most difficult I've studied is Piikani Blackfoot, because of the length and pronunciation of words.

I love studying languages with their own alphabets and learning how to pronounce the different letters. I think it's important to learn how to understand it spoken because that is sometimes difficult

I feel they should definitely be protected. It all sort of depends on the attitude people have towards their own language though. A lot of people don't speak it and only learn it in school and never bother with it again, at least that's the case with Irish.

Thank you so much for asking me this question. As a graduated linguist I definitely believe that endangered languages should be protected, or at least written down. They are very important in reconstructing ancient languages already lost and are key in the herritage of different cultures.

However, besides the linguistic arguments, I just strongly believe that language is such an integrated part of our being. Language actually dictates how you, as a person, see the world. It has been scientifically proven that for example people who speak Spanish actually look at problems differently than people who speak English. It has to do with how sentences are constructed, and thus what part of a sentence the ephasis is put on. That also decides where your attention goes. It's why important think-tanks often consist of people with different mother tongues.

Just because of this it would be terrible if certain languages would fade from the world. Think of all the creativity and herritage we would loose.

enlightenedWhich do you think is the most difficult language?

From the languages I've tried myself, I think either Mandarin Chinese or Classic Arabic (though this isn't a spoken language, so maybe it doesn't count). They're definitely complicated languages to learn.

enlightenedWhen you study a language, do you like to study reading, writing, speaking and listening?

I prefer listening and reading, which have also proven to be the most efficient forms of learning. So yeah, I'm biased cheeky

@niceworldmnd Hello

Do you think that disappearing languages should be protected or should we just let them fade away?
I think disappearing languages should be protected, they carry culture, information, history and deserve to be appreciated.

Which do you think is the most difficult language?
The most difficult language for me so far has been French but that is from the ones I've been studying, I feel I should study a bit of all to tell what is the most difficult language and it would still be very subjective.

When you study a language, do you like to study reading, writing, speaking and listening?
One of my favorite ways to study a language is watching tv shows or movies, also music and books, so reading and listening mainly but I also like writing.

Disappearing languages should be protected as it is one of the priceless inheritance we get from our ancestors. its define our own culture and tells a lot of history.

Musicdruid69 November 26th, 2018

I think they should be protected. Every language should be recorded for future generations to be able to at least hear it.

wittySpruce8187 November 26th, 2018

Should be protected!!

I'm so glad to see all the posts supporting those languages survival as well!

TheMeaningfulLife December 8th, 2018

Languages should be protected obviously, because it's the diversity that makes this world rich. I'm not aware which languages are the most difficult ones, it depends, but I really love listening.

RoRong December 15th, 2018

Disappearing languages should definitely be protected. They help us know more about the past, the history, and the world.
