Anyone here learning Chinese?
Hello there, my name is Naomi and i'm learning chinese as a hobby because i love listening to chinese songs.
Do you have a favorite chinese song? If you do, please share it with me :D
@pinkKite8784 Little Secret from psychologist drama
Yes cuz I just download RedNote
I want to learn Chinese but I feel like I need to be surrounded by people who speak to learn it correctly
I am a chinese from taiwan,if you want some conversation,i can practice with you.(pinyin is ok)
I learned my Mandarin from watching Taiwanese dramas.. Taiwanese Mandarin is more proper and polite sounding.. But, in the recent decade, there aren't many new dramas, so you might have to watch older ones.. like the ones from year 2000 - 2012. Nowadays, most dramas are from China, their Mandarin is sometimes a bit more difficult to understand, as some have really strong accents.
It's easier for me to learn it because my mother tongue is Cantonese, but that was how I learned it. By the time I was able to speak it, I was able to practice it through my workplace. Nowadays, I don't have as much opportunity to use it, but because I've continuously continued watching Chinese Dramas, and is into listening to Mandarin songs, I feel my Mandarin has continued to improve. There are times when I even find myself thinking in Mandarin.
Otherwise, I think there are apps where you could connect with real-life people.. where you exchange learning each others' languages.

I used to take Chinese in high school and I’ve been keen on going to China ever since my Chinese teacher expanded on the culture. Right now, I just use Duolingo to keep it up from time to time.
I have watched this Chinese drama called “A love so beautiful.” And I watched it on Netflix. I listen to like literally no Chinese songs but the intro music is so cute especially with the English translation of the song. Just search up on YouTube “A love so beautiful ost Chinese lyrics.”
i don't know a lot of chinese music, but i like 墮落 by faye wong and her entire album coming home is good to check out. also the album 愛上一個不回家的人 by sandy lam is good too

By the way, I like listening to Liu Yuning. He sings a lot of OST songs for Chinese dramas. He started off just performing online, similar to YouTube, but in China, it's called Weibo. He also performed on Singing shows, Singing with Legends S1 (teamed up with Richie Ren), and had been performing during seasons (like countdown shows, Chinese New Year, etc), also is an actor, mainly historical dramas.
I also like listening to Zhou Shen. He started off from Voice of China S3. His vocal range can be that of a female voice.. I believe he studied opera-like music in an European country. He's also a well-known OST singer. He was also on the Singing with Legends S1 (teamed up with Hacken Lee), he's also joined singing contest shows as one of the judges/mentors, and he's also a regular member of variety shows.
This girl, Shan Yi Chun, is good too. She uses R&B style, discovered on Sing!China in 2020, back then, she was only 18 years old, a University student studying music, she also won first place on this show. She's also been singing a lot of OST songs too. Her voice is very unique, and even sings well without music. She stands out because she has her own style of singing, so, even when she sings other people's songs, it changes to her style and is often very emotional. Like, when she sings sad songs or romantic songs.. you can feel all the emotions.
Another famous OST singer is, Zhang Bi Chen. I believe she was also discovered from a singing contest, also from Voice of China, back in 2013-2014. She has a very coarse voice, so also very unique. Also another emotional singer.
These are my favourite OST singers. All very strong vocals. A lot of the times, I always skip the OST songs in dramas, but whenever I hear their voices, I'll intentionally listen to it.
