πŸ’š Hello Amazing people from around the world , I hope y'all are doing well .

Today we will be learning about India's annual Forest /Tree Festival , known as the
Van Mahotsav .

It is a week-long festival celebrated from July 1 to 7 during which millions of trees are planted all over India. It was initiated in 1950 by K.M. Munshi, the then Union Minister for Agriculture (India) , to create an enthusiasm in the mind of the populace for the conservation of forests and planting of trees.

Van Mahotsav is celebrated in India by planting tens and thousands of saplings. It is a festival that encourages the citizens of India to plant more trees. Forests and trees help in lowering the carbon footprint and maintain ecological balance.
Van Mahotsav's celebration in the first week of July also coincides with the onset of the monsoon.

I think it is quite cool to have a festival dedicated to trees and forests, with so much development leading to deforestation and depleting forests and nature's resources, we definitely should give back to nature in way or another .
There's a popular saying, the seeds we plant today will bear fruits tomorrow, all the more reason to plant for more trees and celebrate our forests.

DISCUSSION for everyone :

πŸ’š What do you think about this festival ? Is there any festival you know of that celebrates trees and forests too ?

πŸ’š What makes it important to celebrate our forests according to you ?

πŸ’š Name any 3 ways by which you can contribute to the environment

Indeed this festival is a perfect way of celebrating Mother Nature's bounty. The 3 ways I can contribute in are : *Plant more n more plants, even give them as gifts. *Refuse, Recycle, Reuse. *Not pluck flowers rather let them blossom in full glory.

πŸ’š Hiya @RideaRainbow , hope you're doing well, love your responses as always .
This festival is a great way to celebrate nature indeed and I applaud the 3 ways you can contribute to it , plants as gifts is super cool, ofcourse the 3 important R's and letting flowers bloom instead of plucking them for momentary satisfaction, thanks so much for sharing πŸ’š

πŸ’š What do you think about this festival ? Is there any festival you know of that celebrates trees and forests too ?

There are festival for forests in other countries but they are not a yearly event like Van Mahotsav 🌳☺

πŸ’š What makes it important to celebrate our forests according to you ?

because forests purify the air we breathe, give us clean water, and prevent erosion. Forests are supporting the living beings with oxygen. πŸ₯³

πŸ’š Name any 3 ways by which you can contribute to the environment

By reducing the use of plastic bags, bring our own tumbler when we buy coffee, use public transport to reduce emissions and pollution.
