Work is terrible

I typed a long message that it keeps giving me an error trying to post, so I'm gonna try a shorter one.

Basically my boss has grabbed me and is verbally abusive. I have returned to work and he's already started in. I'm about to walk out on account of it being a hostile work environment, for which I can't be fired.

I'm just... Scared to do it.

But I can't take much more.

is there anyone above your boss whom you could speak to?   higher boss or HR?

if not, are you searching for another job?       when i was in a bad job situation i looked through postings and possibilities either knowing there were other options or in a slow job market knew i could find the strength to make the best of it until something came up. even applying for other things helped making me feel like i was proactive instead of waiting for it to all fall apart.

HR and the owners keep promising things will change, but they're not. I have an interview at another company next Monday. I'm worried about the pay cut I'll probably have to take, but it's worth it to get away from my horrible boss. It's just awful here.

I'm almost hoping he says something awful so I can leave without legal repercussion.

And yeah, applying helps, and getting the interview helped a lot, but it's still miserable here.

He flipped at me again. I tried to go home. They keep saying I can't because my shift isn't over, let them call the owner and they'll do something about it. It's gonna change in a week, but they can't tell me how.

I'm over this. I'm over it. I threatened a lawyer. I threatened to quit. I quoted my legal rights to leave a hostile work environment. They want to argue. I'm trying to give them time because I don't actually want to quit. I don't know that I have that job I'm going to interview for on Monday, but I'm so fed up.

I wouldn't speak to rabid stray dog the way my boss speaks to me. And he's done it in front of witnesses, and somehow that's not enough. That's not good enough.

I can't with this place.

I just want to go home.

Sadly witnesses are not always reliable when or if you want to pursue legal action most will not speak up worried for their own jobs.   Bosses KNOW  this and will tell witnesses to clam up.

Short of getting harassment in like an email or writing .........you will fall victim to you are just a bad unhappy employee ... I hope you get something more positive soon.

Thankfully this other employee went on record as agreeing with me and backing me up. He's actually sued previous employeers for things like this and has backed up former coworkers in lawsuits, so I'm confident if it came to that, I would have him to back me up.

But same. I hope one of these other jobs pans out well for me.
