I often tend to over do, it does anyone else have this problem?

A) Too many hours at work

B) Can't say no to work

C) Would rather work than be out with others

D) make excuses that you can't go anywhere do to work

If any of these are true leave a comment below. State how you deal with this. What are some relief ideas.

@immyownforeigner119 Hi! I hope you are doing well! I am not a workaholic per se, but my main motivators in life mostly include what I can achieve professionally/academically. I have a hard time seeing life purposes outside of professional accomplishments and this was/is one of the only ways I see success in myself, which isn't true in life. I think working overtime and not wanting to do other things can be a sign of not wanting to maybe deal with another issue that lingers outside of work? Basically like using work as a distraction or coping mechanism? Maybe this could be something that resonates with you. We have great Listeners if you would like to talk more about this! I hope this helps. Please take it easy on yourself. ❤️ Everything will be okay!

@immyownforeigner119 I agree! I love helping others, so I hope to have a career one day that I am able to work and help others at the same time. I know you enjoy helping others, but make sure you take a break so you don't burn out ❤️ It's important to take care of yourself as well! I am thinking of you!

I completely understand where you are coming from. I work in the medical field and I've put in more hours than I care to mention. I've covered for colleagues, gone into work on my days off to help out, (I got paid of course), and given up vacations to work. What I discovered one day was that work had become my be all and end all to my life. When I got home from work that day, I went into my bedroom and looked into the mirror. What I saw was the truth. I needed to take control of my life and take some time for myself. It was extremely difficult at first. I fought the urge to go into work many, many times and I failed many times. But eventually, I discovered what I was missing. My first real vacation was such a journey of discovery. I learned that I could take time for myself and the job would be waiting for me when I returned.. I came back from being on an island in a shack for two weeks ready to face my job. And when I returned it was a joy to work. I hadn't felt the joy for some time. Now I take time off and when I return I'm in a better situation both mentally and physically. This is something I would have never known about without doing what I did.
