Am I bipolar?

I have been diagnosised with depression and anxiety, but a friend of mine told me I might be bipolar. I don't really sleep much and I have racing thoughts to keep me awake. I usually have nightmares that make me wake up in the middle of the night. Im not sure what other kinds of symptoms there are?

@Katscrytoo hmm for a proper diagnosis you must see a specialty it there are several types of bipolar . Some manifest themselves through several lows of manic ( happy , risk taking, restless) and depressive months. Some manifest themselves by rapid cycling such as being very happy ,manifesting really risky behaviour for several weeks then feeling down during which any challenges you took on cant be managed . You should consult a specialist but if you find yourself engaging in risky behaviour some of the time and then having periods of feeling really low that could mean you could suffer from this condition

@Katscrytoo

you may be bipolar but, because i am not a professional I can not say for sure. I would see a doctor or therapist about this :)

@piercetheaiden

I'm currently going to therapy next week so I'll be able to ask then.

Okay so I talked with my therapist. It seems I just have heightened anxiety.

My friend brought up how she thought I might be bipolar so I just wanted to check to make sure

@Katscrytoo It's always good to check on your concerns and advocate for yourself. I'm glad you have a mental health practioner in your life that you can trust to help you figure these things out.
