Aspergers?

ConnectionSeeker June 26th, 2023

I was diagnosed with Asperger's a couple of years ago (as an adult). It makes so many things about me make sense, but it also makes me feel like I'm defective and I feel like it has ruined my life. I'm curious how others feel...thoughts?

@ConnectionSeeker It's common to have mixed emotions following a diagnosis, as it can bring clarity and understanding while also raising questions and concerns about how it may impact your life, but it's important to remember that you are not defective. You have unique strengths and talents. Connecting with others who share similar experiences can provide support and understanding. Be patient with yourself as you navigate this journey and seek support when needed. Remember, you're not alone, and there is a community ready to listen and support you. Take care and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need further support.

I am right there with you. I have done alot of reading, and the one thing that is consistent is that we are like an octagon in a world of circles.

I feel like my octagon was stuck in a large circle until I started meeting new neurodivergent people. It was then that my octagon blew up that circle.

I found a couple of great resources on ***.

Neurodivergent Rebel is fantastic, they have a wealth of knowledge and videos on almost everything. Dr. Neff at Neurodivergent_Insights has a wealth of information about what makes us who we are. I hope this helps.
